FAQ

  • Starting alongside our Friday social run, The Exchange begins with all of FreaksRC.

Runners complete assigned legs, handing off at each exchange.

Teams manage time both on and off the course, with half of their runners on the course and the rest recovering and prepping.

The Exchange is entirely in the greater Houston area. Need a shower, meal or emergency supplies? Make a quick trip home or to the store and hop back in.

No hotel or van reservations need.

  • Register a team of eight, four or two.

Teams assign runners designated “legs” of the course. Runners hand off to the next at each Exchange.

Each runner must run an equal amount of legs (not miles).

Successful teams create a plan for each handoff, manage recovery, and bond with their teammates and fellow Freaks through the night.

  • A team pace of 8:00 min/mile will finish in just over 16 hours.

An team pace of 10:00 min/mile will finish in just over 20 hours.

  • The Exchange is DIY. No course markings or closed streets.

Observe all pedestrian and traffic laws, and use sidewalks.

Pull team vehicles completely out of traffic when waiting.

A bike escort is encouraged, not required, for overnight bayou portions.

Night running gear required from dusk to dawn.
